If you think Quang Duong is bothered by the UPA terminating his contract, think again. A free agent in the pickleball world, the young Vietnamese star is seemingly having the time of his life, free as a bird to promote pickleball in his home country and in the greater Asian region.

Now, it appears the 19-year-old pickleball sensation is cooking up something big again—a big-money tournament right in his native country of Vietnam!

Duong, currently Asia’s best pickleball player announced the exciting development on social media and teasing the tournament as having “the biggest single prize money.” The tournament, according to Avatar, will feature pro and amateur categories but only for men.

“Hello pickleballers world wide. Hello single specialists, hello All bangers, hello all one dimensional players. We are going to have Single tournament in Vietnam in September. Men’s Pro open $50,999.99 USD winner take all, and Amateur Open which will announce prize money about $5000 USD,” Duong wrote.

While the tournament is being planned only for men, Duong didn’t close the door on women’s categories being added. At the moment, the tournament is for men only, but Duong wants to see nonetheless if enough women show interest to possibly include categories for them.

The young man also used his social media post to ask his followers where the tournament should take place.

“Which city would you like to see it happens, Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang or Ho Chi Minh city. Tell us in the comments so we can plan it accordingly,” Quang Duong added.

In the end, the Vietnamese sensation gave a call to action: “All are welcome to see beautiful Vietnam and collect the biggest single prize money.”
