The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has announced that selection trials for India’s pickleball team for the Pickleball World Cup 2025 will take place on 30–31 August 2025 in Ahmedabad.

The IPA is the official governing body for pickleball in India and is dedicated to promoting, developing, and organising the sport across he country. Among its affiliations are with the Asian Pickleball Association (APA) and the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF).

India’s much-anticipated stint in the Pickleball World Cup 2025 will mark the country’s official debut on the global pickleball stage, which is why the IPA is leaving no stone unturned to make sure India fields a tough, talented squad.

“This is a defining step for Indian pickleball,” said Suryaveer Singh Bhullar, President of IPA. “We are proud to provide this platform to our athletes and showcase India’s talent on the world stage.”

The IPA, recognised as the sport’s National Sports Federation back in May, is thus calling on the country’s top picklers to try out for Team India in the aforementioned dates. The categories for selection will be as follows:

  • Under-16 for boys and girls – India’s next generation of pickleball talent
  • Open Category – India’s top-ranked male and female players
  • Seniors 50+ – India’s top senior male and female players

This year’s competition will take place at The FORT Pickleball in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the US.
