The World Pickleball League (WPBL) has announced it is tapping Famous Innovations as the league’s social media agency.  In this capacity, Famous Innovations will be tasked to handle the WPBL’s digital presence, with its scope of work including end-to-end content strategy, social-first video formats, real-time storytelling, influencer activations, and daily management.

Launched only recently, the WPBL is India’s first-ever franchise-based professional league dedicated to the fast-growing sport of pickleball. With the sport gaining rapid popularity globally and resonating with younger audiences in India, the league aims to position itself at the confluence of competitive sports, community, and culture—and Famous Innovations will spearhead the league’s content and communication efforts to that end and help shape a bold, youthful, and irreverent brand voice across platforms.

Gaurav Natekar, Founder and CEO of the WPBL, said: “We’ve always believed that building a modern sports league isn’t just about the game on the court—it’s also about the stories, the energy, and the culture you create around it. As WPBL works on building the pickleball ecosystem in India into a way of life, we are committed to partnering with those that share our enthusiasm and vision. With their understanding of digital, content and culture, Famous Innovations is well positioned to help us shape a league that’s bold, fresh and deeply rooted in community.”

Shiv Sethuraman, Chief Transformation Officer at Famous Innovations, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with WPBL to shape the voice of one of India’s most exciting new sporting ventures. As an agency, we’ve always loved the energy and emotion that sports brings to the table—and we see WPBL as a unique opportunity to build a cultural movement, not just a league. It’s not every day that you get to define a sport’s presence from the ground up, and we’re all in.”

This partnership marks another milestone for Famous Innovations as it continues expanding its roster of culture-first brands and pioneering new ways to connect Indian audiences with emerging sports and digital storytelling.
